• Attend to patient.

• Report to Supervisor.

• Complete a Confidential
Report of Incident.

• Escort visitor to Emergency Department, if warranted.

• Notify Risk Management.

• Complete a Confidential Report of Incident.

• Inform Supervisor.

• Call Employee Health Services at 885-7580 or go to UCSF Emergency Department if urgent or after hours.

• If staff was assaulted while on duty, see additional procedures in Administrative Manual.

• For all Needlesticks, Splashes or Lacerations, page 24-hour Needlestick Hotline at 719-3898.
